New Student Information

Lowndes County Schools welcomes new students. Parents may register new students at the appropriate school according to the instructions below. At all schools, parents or legal guardians must accompany students for registration. All students enrolled must reside in Lowndes County (but not within the Valdosta City limits) with parents or legal guardians.

If you have questions about which school district your home is located in, please contact the Lowndes County Schools Transportation Department at 229.245.2257. The school district map may also be of assistance. 

Parents should bring the following items at time of registration:

0. Official birth certificate for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade students. No birth certificate is necessary for 2nd -12th grade students who have a military identification card or previous school documentation showing birth date. Principals may require official birth certificates in individual cases.

0. Shot Record - Georgia Certificate of Immunization (GA Form 3231) is required by Georgia law. PHS-731 International Certification of Vaccination by WHO) or other physician documentation must be transferred by doctor or designee to Georgia Certificate of Immunization.

0. Certificate of Ear, Eye, and Dental Examination (Georgia Form 3300).

0. Copy of child's Social Security card (if available).

0. Withdrawal form and transcript (preferred), report card, all special education records, and the name and mailing address of the previous school attended.

0. Proof of residence (utility bill, rental agreement, etc. - no cell phone bills please).

The Student Registration  form will need to be filled out completely at the time of registration. 

If there is no documentation from the student's previous school, a call will be made to the student's previous school at the parent's expense to obtain the necessary information.
