Kip Mcleod, principal of Hahira Middle School and Dr.Samuel Clemons, principal of Lowndes Middle School are taking a break to capture a photo with Phil Schlecty the author of Leading to Learn. Both Hahira Middle School and Lowndes Middle School are embracing the High School Redesign Initiative (HSRI) and vision of Dr. Schlecty that enables struggling students to find successful paths for graduating from high school by engaging in a different mind-set for learning to achieve based on high expectations from the educational community (inclusive of themselves).The HSRI initiative is a teamwork concept of engaging students in the educational process as higher-ordered thinking skills are promoted for leading and learning simultaneously. Two teachers from each school along with the principal and PAGE represented, Marta Walker attend the conference which was held in Dallas Texas. |
