SchoolCenter PictureThe Finance Department is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial and business operations of the Lowndes County School System. We administer a $129 million budget, including General Fund, Special Funds, and Capital Projects. The department produces monthly payrolls for approximately 1,400 employees and processes approximately $15 million of invoices in 10,000 General Ledger accounts for vendor payments annually. The department maintains all employee benefits. In addition, the department is responsible for the filing and processing of workers compensation claims and property claims.
